1. Zhiyuan Robot's First Partner Conference Reveals Major Information
On August 21, Zhiyuan Robot held its first partner conference in Shanghai.
At the main forum, Deng Taihua, Chairman and CEO of Zhiyuan Robot, stated in his speech that the world is on the eve of a "major explosion in embodied AI," with artificial intelligence accelerating its advance toward AGI. He believes this year will mark a turning point for the commercial development of embodied AI robots, which will ultimately become the "next generation of massive intelligent terminals" following mobile phones and automobiles. Regarding concerns about Zhiyuan Robot's revenue and cash flow, Deng Taihua noted that even without revenue, the company's current cash reserves are sufficient to sustain operations for three years.
At the product level, Zhiyuan Robotics co-founder and CTO Peng Zhihui unveiled the new Lingxi X2-W. This is a wheeled dual-arm robot prototype designed for "operational intelligence," with its compact design occupying less than 0.5 square meters being a highlight; however, the Lingxi X2-W is still in the prototype phase.
During a media group interview, Wang Chuang, President of the General Business Department at Zhiyuan Robotics, addressed questions regarding robot hardware, the value of robots in the entertainment sector, and how Zhiyuan selects partners. On the topic of hardware, Wang stated: "If we set the goal for robots to possess human-like capabilities, the gap in hardware bottlenecks between robots and humans is too large, and I believe that the performance of various robotic hardware components is currently still insufficient." 2. Unitree Previews New Robot Products
On the evening of August 19, Unitree Robotics revealed its upcoming new robot. Information from the teaser poster shows that the new robot is 180 cm tall, has 31 degrees of freedom throughout its body, and is performing a ballet dancer pose on its tiptoes. Additionally, the words 'Agile' and 'Elegant' are marked on the poster, indicating that the Unitree new robot should focus on these two major capabilities.
This new product will be the fourth humanoid robot released by Unitree. In 2023 and 2024, Unitree released the Unitree H1 and Unitree G1, respectively. On July 15 this year, Unitree released its third humanoid robot, the Unitree R1.
After the release of new products in the future, Unitree's robot product matrix will be further supplemented. Currently, Unitree has already established a product matrix consisting of "humanoid robots (H, G, R series) + quadruped robots (A, B, GO series) + motors and other components," covering industrial-grade and consumer-grade markets.
3. Shouxing Technology announces completion of a new round of financing
On August 19, Shouxing Technology announced the completion of a new round of financing, led by Shunwei Capital, with existing shareholders China Merchants Venture Capital, Shenzhen Capital Group, and Zhiyuan Robot making over-investments, Qiji Chuangtan and Zerosea Capital following up, and Deep Blue Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor.
Shou Xing Technology was founded in 2024. Its founder and CEO, Hu Yuhang, holds a Ph.D. in AI robotics from Columbia University. However, he is best known as 'U Hang' on Douyin, where he gained over one million followers by 'hand-building' robots.
At the product level, Shouxing Technology primarily develops high-end, ultra-bionic humanoid robots. The Elf series consists of hyper-realistic humanoid robots with 30 degrees of freedom, capable of environmental perception, intelligent dialogue, and autonomous learning. Its self-developed CharacterMind is an emotion foundation system designed for future interactions, aiming to inject genuine emotional perception and expression capabilities into robots, digital humans, and various embodied AI characters.
4. Embodied AI Humanoid Robot Order for 10,000 Units Released
On August 20, Tiantai Robotics Co., Ltd., along with strategic partners such as Shandong Future Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Future Data Technology Co., Ltd., and Gangzai Robot Group, jointly signed the world's first order for 10,000 embodied AI humanoid robots.
According to introductions, this batch of robots will focus on the home healthcare sector, integrating functions such as stair-climbing assistance and real-time interaction, while also incorporating services like health monitoring, emotional companionship, educational interaction, and digital life management.
Tiantai Robotics Co., Ltd. was established in 2014 and specializes in core robotic motion units and motion technology solutions. It is reported that following the ten-thousand-unit order, Tiantai Robotics will release its new generation radial and axial joint modules on August 26, with prices dropping to three-digit figures.
