Unitree Unveils the 1.8-Meter-Tall H2 Bipedal Robot with Eyes and Nose
Just now, Unitree Robotics released its new product, the Unitree H2 bionic humanoid robot. Its most notable feature is a more human-like bionic design on its face, combined with a height of 180 cm and a weight of 70 kg, making it resemble humans more closely in both appearance and physique. Unitree describes the H2 as being born to serve everyone safely and friendly.
In its bionic facial design, the H2 finally has eyes that many previous humanoid robots hid. Based on the images, it can be roughly inferred that the robot's eyes contain cameras for certain perception functions (subject to future official information), although no hidden functions have been identified for its nose and mouth yet.
The video shows that the H2 can perform many ballet movements that test a robot's flexibility, a skill that is relatively uncommon among many full-size humanoid robots currently available on the market.
While spinning continuously, the H2 runs smoothly and stably, seamlessly connecting to backward-leaning or kicking dance moves. The overall dance performance is coherent and elegant, showcasing the demeanor of an advanced ballet dancer (robotic dance performances will likely become common at large events in the future).
After the ballet performance, the H2 demonstrated martial arts skills. At a height of 180 cm, it executed a combo of punches, knee lifts, kicks, side rotations, and elbow strikes, maintaining stability throughout.
From its dance and martial arts performances, it is evident that Unitree has invested significant effort into the motion capabilities of its full-size humanoid robot. Historically, full-size humanoid robots have played a minor role in various boxing and martial arts demonstrations. This is largely because larger sizes make controlling the robot's stability during movement more challenging, while also imposing high demands on the stability and operational intensity of hardware components such as motors and mechanical structures.
Unitree has not yet released further technical details about the H2. Future developments to watch include how they manage heat dissipation from motors, maintain chassis stability, and achieve synergy between software and hardware for full-size humanoid robots.
Later in the video, the H2 showcased its ability to model various fashion outfits. Whether viewed from the front or back, the H2 exuded an international supermodel vibe, a look closely tied to its 1.8-meter-tall stature with long legs.
Finally, Unitree revealed the harmonious proportions of the H2 robot. These body proportions make it a 'hanger' among robots, explaining why any outfit looks cool on the H2.
Unitree Robot Product Matrix
In fact, this product name marks the fourth humanoid robot released by Unitree. In 2023 and 2024, Unitree respectively launched the Unitree H1 and Unitree G1. On July 15 this year, Unitree released its third humanoid robot, the Unitree R1.
H2 is Unitree's second full-size humanoid robot, while the Unitree H1 was Unitree's first general-purpose full-size humanoid robot, launched in August 2023. Furthermore, the viral scene of H1 performing a cyber-style yangko dance at the 2025 Spring Festival Gala gained significant attention abroad.
In terms of basic specifications, the H1 stands approximately 1.8 meters tall and weighs about 47 kilograms. Regarding mobility, the H1 has 5 degrees of freedom (DOF) per leg and 4 DOF per arm. Its maximum movement speed is 3.3 m/s, with potential performance exceeding 5 m/s. Its maximum joint torque is 360 N·m, with a peak torque density of 189 N·m/kg.
For perception, the H1 is equipped with a 3D LiDAR and a depth camera, providing 360° depth perception capabilities. Regarding battery life, the H1 features an 864 Wh battery that supports quick swapping.
The Unitree G1 is Unitree's second humanoid robot and its first small-sized humanoid robot, released in May 2024. Its starting price of 99,000 RMB caused considerable stir in the industry at the time. Moreover, the G1 has also had notable moments in combat; at the recent World Humanoid Robot Games, the G1 served as a "veteran boxer."
The G1 stands approximately 1.3 meters tall and weighs about 35 kilograms. In terms of mobility, the G1 has a total of 23 degrees of freedom, with 6 DOF for each leg and 5 DOF for each arm, plus 1 DOF for the waist. Its knee joint maximum torque is 90 N·m, and the arm's maximum load capacity is 2 kg.
On the perception end, the G1 is also equipped with a 3D LiDAR and a depth camera, along with a 4-array microphone and a 5 W speaker. Regarding battery life, it features a large quick-release battery supporting up to 2 hours of operation.
Unitree R1, following G1 as another small humanoid robot from Unitree, starts at a price of 39,900 yuan. Its basic specifications include a height of 1.21 meters and a weight of approximately 25 kilograms.
In terms of mobility, R1 features 24 degrees of freedom (DOF), with 6 DOF per leg, 5 DOF per arm, and 2 DOF for the waist. The maximum payload capacity for each arm is approximately 2 kilograms.
For perception, R1 is equipped with a bionic binocular camera, a four-array microphone system, and stereo dual speakers, each with a power output of 3 W. Regarding battery life, R1 offers approximately 1 hour of operation, supported by quick-release batteries for rapid swapping.
Prior to H2, Unitree launched its new quadruped robot, Unitree A2, on August 5.
Weighing approximately 37 kg, A2 boasts 12 degrees of freedom, a maximum joint torque of about 180 N·m, a top speed of roughly 5 m/s, and a maximum standing load capacity of around 100 kg. It can climb heights ranging from 0.5 to 1 meter. In terms of perception, A2 is equipped with LiDAR and high-definition cameras. For endurance, A2 can walk continuously for 3 hours covering 12.5 km when fully loaded, and for 5 hours covering 20 km when unloaded.
With the release of H2, Unitree's robotics product lineup has been further expanded. Unitree now maintains a product matrix encompassing humanoid robots (H, G, and R series) + quadruped robots (A, B, and GO series) + motors and other components, serving both industrial and consumer markets. While different products target distinct segments, Unitree remains consistently focused on enhancing robotic performance in mobility.
Move first, then work
It is worth mentioning that in the recently concluded World Humanoid Robot Games, Unitree won four gold medals, all on the track.
In the 1,500-meter long-distance run, H1 clocked a time of 6 minutes and 34 seconds; in the 400-meter sprint, H1's time was 1 minute 28.03 seconds. In the subsequent 100-meter hurdle race, G1 achieved a time of 33.71 seconds, placing first. Finally, in the 4×100-meter relay, Unitree secured its fourth gold medal with a time of 1 minute 48.78 seconds.
