Zhiyuan Kuantuo Launches All-Terrain Intelligent Mobile and Operation Platform, Targeting 300,000 Units Shipped by 2030

In the current field of Embodied AI, humanoid robots and quadruped robots are forming a clear complementary relationship. Humanoids excel at fine manipulation and upper-body operations in standing postures, while quadrupeds are distinguished by their all-terrain mobility and stable movement. In scenarios where humans find it difficult to work for extended periods, such as mines, underground tunnels, utility corridors, ruins, and polar regions, the value of quadruped robots is particularly prominent. They can access areas that most wheeled equipment cannot reach and are better suited than bipedal humanoids for long-distance, high-load, and complex terrain mobility tasks.

Therefore, quadruped robots have also become another key track in the field of Embodied AI, alongside humanoid robots.

Against this backdrop, on April 10, Zhiyuan Kutuo held a media briefing to officially launch its strategy for an all-terrain intelligent mobile and operation platform, introducing a new generation of quadruped robot product system.

Relying on the full-stack AGI and Embodied AI technology of the Zhiyuan Group, Zhiyuan Kutuo aims to make quadruped robots more intelligent and focuses on promoting large-scale implementation in scenarios such as logistics handling, industrial inspection, security and emergency response, fire and rescue, and special operations.

Qiu Heng, Director, COO, and President of Marketing Services at Zhiyuan Kutuo mentioned at the meeting that spaces where humans are concentrated account for less than 3% of the Earth's surface, leaving over 97% of sparsely or unpopulated areas requiring highly permeable and reliable intelligent mobile platforms. Quadrupedal locomotion is the most common form of movement in nature, while four-wheel drive is the most mature mobility solution in industrial equipment. Zhiyuan Kutuo's quadruped robots combine these two approaches, enabling adaptation to most extreme terrains and complex working conditions. Within Zhiyuan's overall layout, humanoid and quadruped robots cover each other, essentially encompassing mainstream forms of intelligent mobile robots.

It is reported that compared to traditional quadruped robots, Zhiyuan Kutuo's products do not rely on preset commands, fixed gaits, or manual remote control. Instead, they possess adaptive dynamic balance, environmental understanding, autonomous task planning, real-time anomaly processing, and natural language interaction capabilities, allowing them to independently complete complex operations.

The core of this lies in Kutuo deeply reusing the Zhiyuan Group's full-stack technology system: from hardware, power, and perception/communication modules, to system software and motion control algorithms, up to top-level Embodied AI, multimodal large models, world models, reinforcement learning frameworks, and scenario data. This achieves internal group sharing, providing certain advantages in data utilization, while leveraging the Genie Studio development platform to improve model training efficiency and scenario implementation.

On this basis, Zhiyuan Kutuo has made enhancements in five areas for industry applications: perception, navigation, operation, interaction, and upper-structure ecosystem, which are also key differentiators in its practical implementation.

In terms of products, Zhiyuan Kutuo currently offers series such as D1 Pro/Edu, D1 Max/Max Pro, and D1 Ultra/Ultra W, covering applications in logistics handling, industrial inspection, security patrol, fire emergency response, entertainment performance, and educational research.

Additionally, the next-generation flagship D2 Max was previewed at the event. Positioned as an all-terrain L3 autonomous driving quadruped robot, it will further enhance terrain adaptability, precise foot placement, dynamic obstacle avoidance, autonomous navigation, and autonomous handling capabilities, enabling it to perform inspection, transport, loading, and unloading tasks in warehouses, industrial parks, utility tunnels, and construction sites.

Notably, on the commercialization front, Zhiyuan Kutuo has set a clear target: achieving mass production deliveries of 300,000 units by 2030, generating revenue of 10 billion yuan, with overseas sales accounting for more than 35%.
