Zhiyuan Robot Secures Strategic Investment from International Group, LG Electronics Makes First Global Move in Embodied AI
August 1, Dianbo No.42 learned that Zhiyuan Robotics has received a strategic investment from an international group. This investment was jointly led by LG Electronics and Mirae Asset Group of Korea. According to public information, this marks LG Electronics' first global expansion into the field of embodied AI.
According to the Tianyancha App, prior to this round, Zhiyuan Robotics had completed 10 rounds of financing, with a valuation exceeding 15 billion yuan.
In March 2023, Zhiyuan Robotics completed its seed round funding, led by Huiyin Ventures and co-participated by JiXi ChuangTan.
In April, Zhiyuan Robotics launched its A-round and A+ round funding, with capital injected jointly by CDH Investments and GGV Capital.
In August, it completed its A++ round funding, with investors including BYD and BlueRun Ventures.
In December, it completed its A+++ round funding, raising over 600 million yuan. Well-known institutions such as BYD, Baidu Venture (which participated in the A+ round), Sanhua Holdings, and Huiyin Ventures (which participated in the angel and A rounds and continued to add investments) joined the venture.
In 2024, Zhiyuan Robotics completed two rounds of financing, in March and September respectively, with investors including Sequoia Capital, SAIC Motor, and BlueRun Ventures.
In March 2025, Zhiyuan Robot completed a financing round led by Tencent, with participation from multiple industrial partners and existing shareholders including Longcheer Technology, Wolong Electric, Huafa Group, and BlueRun Ventures.
In May, JD.com and the Shanghai Embodied AI Fund participated in Zhiyuan Robot's latest financing round, while existing shareholders such as Sequoia Capital, SAIC Venture Capital, and TCL made over-subscribed follow-on investments.
On July 15, Zhiyuan Robot received strategic investment from CP Robotics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Charoen Pokphand Group.
Founded in February 2023, Zhiyuan Robot was established by a co-founding team comprising senior executives from globally renowned enterprises with extensive industry experience, top scientists in the field of artificial intelligence, and other industry veterans. The team possesses deep core technology backgrounds, comprehensive industrial management experience, and rich industry resources. Among them, co-founder and CTO Peng Zhihui (Zhihui Jun) is a well-known KOL in the tech circle. He graduated with a master's degree from the School of Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2018 and previously conducted research on Ascend AI chips and AI algorithms at Huawei.
At the recently concluded World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Zhiyuan Robot officially launched the industry's first reference framework for an embodied AI operating system—the open-source initiative "Zhiyuan Lingqu OS."
This system originates from Zhiyuan's mass-production-validated product technology framework, featuring high performance, easy scalability, orientation toward embodied hardware, and validation through mass production. It perfectly adapts to devices in various fields such as industrial, commercial service, and home service applications, providing a unified technical foundation for intelligent applications in different scenarios.
In terms of products, Zhiyuan Robot has built a full-stack technology covering "robot body + AI," possessing three major robot families: Yuanzheng, Jingling, and Lingxi. Its products cover various commercial scenarios and are sold to multiple countries and regions worldwide. In January this year, the 1,000th general-purpose embodied robot produced by Zhiyuan Robot officially came off the assembly line.
Yao Maoqing, partner of Zhiyuan Robot and president of its embodied AI division, revealed at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference that the next-generation robot body in the Spirit series, Spirit G2, will be released in Q3 this year. It features comprehensive upgrades in motion accuracy and scenario adaptability, along with native data acquisition capabilities, further expanding the application boundaries of embodied AI.
