Zhiyuan Robot secures new investment; LimX Power launches LimX Oli starting at 158,000 RMB; Lingcifang completes hundred-million-level financing | Wave Weekly Report

1. Zhiyuan Robot Secures Additional Investment

On August 1, Wave 42 learned that Zhiyuan Robot has received strategic investment from an international group, with this round led jointly by LG Electronics and Mirae Asset Group. According to public information, this is LG Electronics' first global expansion in the field of embodied AI.

Zhiyuan Robot was founded in February 2023. Its co-founding team consists of senior industry veterans, including core executives from globally renowned enterprises with extensive industrial experience and top scientists in the artificial intelligence field, bringing deep core technology backgrounds, comprehensive industrial management experience, and rich industrial resources. Among them, co-founder and CTO Peng Zhihui (known as Zhihui Jun) is a well-known KOL in the tech circle. He graduated with a master's degree from the School of Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2018 and previously worked at Huawei on Ascend AI chips and AI algorithm research.

In terms of products, Zhiyuan Robot has built a full-stack "body + AI" robot technology, featuring three robot families: Yuanzheng, Jingling, and Lingxi. Its products cover various commercial scenarios and are sold in multiple countries and regions worldwide. In January this year, the 1,000th general-purpose embodied robot produced by Zhiyuan Robot officially went off the production line.

Yao Maoqing, Partner and President of the Embodied Business Department at Zhiyuan Robot, revealed at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference that the next-generation robot body for the Jingling series, the Jingling G2, will be released in Q3 this year.

2. LimX Dynamics Launches Full-Size General-Purpose Humanoid Robot LimX Oli Starting at 158,000 RMB

On July 30, ZJRobotics officially released the full-size general-purpose humanoid robot LimX Oli, priced at 158,000 yuan and up.

LimX Oli stands 165 cm tall, with 31 active degrees of freedom on its body, including seven single-arm degrees of freedom, six single-leg degrees of freedom, three waist degrees of freedom, and two neck degrees of freedom, covering the entire motion chain from head to torso to limbs. Thanks to its universal configuration design, modular software and hardware structure, and a continuously improving toolchain development system, it fully supports all stages from algorithm research and development to system deployment.

In terms of movement and work capabilities, LimX Oli can practice Tai Chi in the park, perform a hot dance called "Grand Blueprint," and also handle tasks such as sorting in industrial settings.

LimX Oli adopts a modular hardware design, supporting multiple end-effectors such as hand models, two-finger mechanical grippers, and five-finger dexterous hands, along with flexible disassembly and assembly of external devices and component replacement. It also integrates various external devices including voice, vision, tactile sensors, IMU, and LiDAR, providing developers with rich multimodal input data sources.

At the same time, its SDK interfaces are fully open, supporting developers in accessing body state and sensor data, low-level joint control, and high-level task scheduling, which is suitable for diverse R&D scenarios ranging from teleoperation system construction to imitation learning data collection.

Targeting a broad range of robotics professionals, including AI researchers, robot developers, and solution system integrators, LimX Oli offers three versions—Lite, EDU, and Super—to provide comprehensive and efficient support for the training, validation, and deployment of complex perception, motion control, and interaction algorithms.

3. Zero One completed a hundred-million-yuan-level financing in its Angel+ and Angel++ rounds

On July 31, Hefei Zero-Step Robotics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zero-Step") announced the completion of a hundred-million-yuan Series Angel+ and Angel++ financing rounds. The Angel+ round was funded by Baohe Venture Capital, Tongchuang Weiyu, and Lianhe Sci-Tech Innovation; the Angel++ round was backed by Shuimu Fund, Baohe Venture Capital, Mizhuo Lianhe, and Ralph Venture Capital.

The funds will be primarily used in three areas:

Technological breakthroughs: Deepen the R&D of large model algorithms for specific Embodied AI scenarios, overcome bottlenecks in dynamic decision-making within complex environments, and accelerate the commercial implementation of Embodied AI in service sectors.

Mass production acceleration: Speed up the scaled construction of mass production facilities, aiming to deliver over 500 units of various robot models by the end of the year.

Ecosystem layout: Collaborate with industrial capital and government agencies to build an Embodied AI data hub, addressing challenges such as the lack of data modalities in the industry, cumbersome data collection processes, complex task data management, and high barriers to model training, inference, and deployment. By developing foundational infrastructure for the Embodied AI sector, it aims to accelerate industry growth.

It is reported that Zero-Step has begun delivering its ZERITH-H1 products in July, with large-scale shipments starting in August, and expects to complete the delivery of 500 robots this year. Currently, Zero-Step Robotics has secured orders worth tens of millions of yuan, with total意向 (intended) orders nearing 100 million yuan, mainly covering scientific research and education, data centers, hotel services, and entertainment exhibition scenarios.

4. Chuan Robot Aims for A-Share IPO

On the evening of July 30, Sichuan Tianlian Robotics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Robot") announced that it signed a "Tutoring Agreement for Initial Public Offering and Listing on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of Shanghai Stock Exchange" with Hua'an Securities on July 25. The Sichuan Securities Regulatory Bureau accepted the tutoring filing materials on July 30.

According to its 2024 annual report, Sichuan Robot has no controlling shareholder, with Hu Tianlian serving as the actual controller. Concerted parties include Hu Tianlian, Wu Jian, Chen Gang, Tang Huang, Jiang Ming, Luo Qianyou, Yue Zhibin, Song Zhihui, Tian Rong, and Yan Jin.

In terms of current business operations, Sichuan Robot mainly provides high-tech, low-cost, and reliable core robot components, as well as integrated smart manufacturing system solutions based on robot bodies, ultimately aiming to achieve the production and application of bionic robots and humanoid robots.

Sichuan Robot's core product is the harmonic reducer, and it has several self-developed humanoid robot bodies, including the legged T1 PRO, T1 Ultra, T1 mini, and the wheeled C1s.

5. RoboScience Announces Completion of Nearly 200 Million RMB Angel Financing Round

On July 30, Embodied AI company RoboScience announced the completion of an angel financing round of nearly 200 million RMB. The round was led by JD.com, with participation from China Merchants Venture Capital and SenseTime Guoxiang Capital, while existing shareholder Zero One Venture Capital continued to invest. Musi Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for this round.

RoboScience was founded in late December 2024 by Tian Ye and Shao Lin. Founder and CEO Tian Ye graduated from the School of Physics at the University of Science and Technology of China with a bachelor's degree and earned his master's degree from the Stanford AI Lab under Andrew Ng. He previously served as the technical lead for Apple's device-side machine learning platform team. Founder and Chief Scientist Shao Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore. He received his Ph.D. from the Stanford AI Lab under Jeannette Bohg, with Leondard J. Guibas as co-supervisor.

In terms of technical approach, RoboScience has adopted a fast-slow brain hierarchical end-to-end model since its inception. Its proprietary simulation physics engine is the core enabler for deploying this hierarchical end-to-end model, and it defines "Object Trajectory" as the standard data format for Embodied AI from first principles, facilitating the large-scale acquisition and utilization of simulation, video, and real-world data. Additionally, RoboScience has independently developed a Manipulation Foundation Model. Serving as a bridge between multimodal large models and the physical world, this embodied manipulation foundation model achieves generalization across three dimensions: guiding any robot, manipulating any object, and completing any task. Leveraging these highly generalized technical capabilities, the company's products can efficiently adapt to hardware configurations with different specifications based on scenario requirements, flexibly expanding deployment scenarios.
